Though, as is prone to those born with dreams of the outside world, Roan would depart from Golmore after his 40th nameday. Some years later he would be married in Dalmasca to a Hyuran woman, taking her surname for his own and holding it even long after she passed of old age.Rise of the Empire: After the fall of Rabanastre, open defiance of the Garleans became much less tenable. Having served for years alongside the Resistance and having become disillusioned with the royal family in exile, Roan departed from the battlefield, taking his talents and employing them as a privateer."I spent so much time in the brush that I found myself longing for the skies. It helps that as a pirate, the Garleans couldn't attribute my crimes directly to Dalmasca. I could have just as easily been an outsider taking advantage of the fog of war, scoring spoils as any n'er do well is prone to do.Current Life: With the end of Garlean occupation of Dalmasca, and the uneasy peace that exists in Eorzea, attentions have been turned inward for the now free nations of Othard. Finding himself free from his vendetta against Imperial occupiers, and flush with coin gained from decades of plunder Roan has settled into an uneasy retirement, and a constant itch for adventure.Thus he finds himself in Eorzea, boasting himself to be a Pirate Prince and with the riches to bolster his claims, he pursues a decadent lifestyle in pursuit of gambling, women and coin gained by refitting his skills for mercenary purposes."Honestly I grew so comfortable in the outlaw's life that I saw myself as a pirate until the day I died. Hey there, I'm Roan's writer a 21+ year old male from the mountain west with many years of text RP and tabletop under my belt.
My work schedule tends to be 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM (PST) with Thursday/Friday as my non-scheduled free days. As such, I'm usually available late at night, or on my days off.
I ask that all potential RP partners be 21+ as well. I tend to prefer casual character/relationship building, fluff & ERP as well collaborative action/drama. I don't generally do PVP RP unless it's constrained in its purposes, it moves plot along, and there are clear rules that everyone's going to make it out alive.
RP Hooks
Roan's from Eruyt Village, and spent nearly the entirety of his life in the Golmore Jungle and Dalmasca. If you're also from the region, or even just a casual scholar, he'd love to share stories of the homeland and reminders of when it was free and at peace.
He currently alternates between Thanalan and Coerthas with lodgings in both Ul'dah and in Ishgard. He operates an information network between the two cities and deals in secrets. If you have juicy gossip or tips that black market information brokers would like a piece of, Roan would be interested in a private meeting.
Casual conversation. Roan is often traveling Eorzea's city states as a tourist, travelling adventurer and mercenary. As such in his free time he happens to stop in bars and other venues to simply relax, imbibe expensive alcohol and partake in Triple Triad or other gambling. He's always wanting for company in these places, and has a tendency to flirt in the hopes of finding new romantic connections. Even if he doesn't find a new bedmate however, he's always glad to turn a friend from a stranger.
